I am grateful that the Utah State Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society sponsored this program. Rachael Lyon did an outstanding job of organizing the space, the MS expert, program logistics, and all that was necessary to make this program the success that it was. She received assistance from Clare, who also works for the chapter, and Kathy, who works on the site and jumped in as needed. 24 yoga teachers, including 8 from surrounding states, and 15 students living with MS participated in this life affirming program. It was a great learning experience for all of us.
This was my first trip to Utah and already I want to go back for more! My husband and I were able to combine our 30 year anniversary vacation with trip to the Moab area. We hiked in both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Someone mentioned to me that Moab is a little like Mystic, CT only with a desert theme instead of ocean. That seemed to be my experience too. Moab is a great little town. In comparison to New England - well there is no comparison! Just vastness - everywhere. Comments from teachers:
"What a treat for me to take the training class with you and all the other students. I feel my life is more enriched now having had this experience. I can't express to you my gratitud for the experience. The training you offered was so well organized and had the right amount of practical and lecture time combined. Many trainings I have attended
lacked the right amount of time with each area. I really enjoyed the hands on to practice with clients with MS. Well done!!"
"Thank you so much for sharing your weekend with us – it has made a great difference in my practice and teaching. I am definitely more aware of all my students’ individual needs and am becoming a better teacher because of this. I have already directed some of my students to your website to get your CD and am working to get a gentle yoga class started for those patients who joined us."
